The Red Room at the Baloci Hotel is a Persian inspired story of exploration and escape. It is an intriguing setting with a rich bold aesthetic.
Our design influence is Indo-Persian which refers to a cultural synthesis of elements present in Indian subcontinent. These elements are characterised by the absorption or integration of Persian details into the various cultures of modern day republics of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
Our brief was to showcase the elegance, craft, warmth and glamour of the Persian hand woven rugs which are placed sensitively around the dining space.
Geometric patterns and ornament alongside natural materials from the region create visual touch points. The solidity of Balocistan black and gold veined marble, the warmth of the rugs, the soft hues of the sand rendered walls and the refinement of burnished brass are all selectively placed into the scheme.
